1. Don't put it in light

To prevent discoloration and cracking, keep your bag away from direct sunlight and low humidity. Keep your handbag in a cool place out of the light and keep it hydrated with a small bag or two of silicone gel!

2. Fill the bag to help retain its shape

Handbags, especially leather ones, are prone to losing shape, even if they cannot be stored properly. Fill bags with shredded butter paper, bubble wrap or plastic pads, or even roll up sweaters to help preserve their structure.

3. Consider using a bag lining

By using a handbag lining, you can protect the inside of your bag from spills, especially if you change your luggage frequently. Not only does the outer bag protect your bag, but there are more pockets for storing items, and the lining makes the bag easy to clean.

4. Don't overclean

Your cleaning method will vary depending on the material of your bag. For bags made of nylon, rinse them with mild, soapy water, dry them with a clean towel, and let dry for a few hours. For a leather bag, mix warm water with dishwashing liquid in a bowl, dip it into a soft cloth, unscrew it, and gently wipe the bag.
